Understanding Units vs. mL

A standard U-100 insulin syringe has 100 units per 1 mL. So 10 units = 0.1 mL, 5 units = 0.05 mL, etc. When we say "draw 5 units," we mean draw to the 5-unit mark on your syringe.

Reconstitution Tips

  • • Always use bacteriostatic water (BAC water) for multi-dose vials
  • • Inject the water slowly along the side of the vial — never directly onto the powder
  • • Gently swirl to dissolve — never shake
  • • Store reconstituted peptides in the refrigerator (2–8°C)
  • • Most reconstituted peptides are stable for 2–4 weeks refrigerated
